Mashhad University of Medical Sciences

Mashhad University of Medical Sciences (MUMS) is a prestigious medical school located in Mashhad, Iran. Originally established in 1949 as part of Ferdowsi University of Mashad, it became an independent institution by national legislation in 1986.

 

MUMS is now considered one of the best universities in the Middle East. Its School of Medicine was ranked first among Iranian universities in 2001, and the latest rankings place Mashhad University in the third spot nationally.

 

MUMS offers undergraduate, graduate, and post-doctorate programs across its seven schools. The university boasts eight faculties, 32 hospitals, 179 rural health care centers, and 147 urban health care centers.

 

The main campus of MUMS is located in Iran and features state-of-the-art facilities, including hospitals, clinics, and laboratories.

 

MUMS has been recognized for its achievements by various organizations, such as the World Health Organization, which awarded the university in 2017. A faculty member was also awarded the highest Medal of Honor in 2016 and won the Razi Research Festival on Medical Science in 2018.
